Katie Hostler, PA-C

Background

Advanced Orthopedics is excited to add Katie Hostler, MHS, PA-C to its team of Sports Medicine specialists. She joined Advanced Orthopedics in January, 2010. As a former collegiate gymnast, Katie brings extensive personal experience with Sports Medicine to Advanced Orthopedics.

Katie was a competitive gymnast for most of her life.  She qualified for the Junior Olympic National Championship in 2000 and 2002.  She earned an athletic scholarship to the University of Oklahoma where she got her degree in Health and Exercise Science.  While competing for Oklahoma, the Sooners won the Big XII Championship and qualified to the NCAA National Championship.

Katie's athletic experience sparked an interest in Sports Medicine.  At the conclusion of her gymnastics career, she pursued a career in medicine by earning a Masters Degree in Health Science and a Physician Assistant's degree at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in 2009.

Scope of Practice

Katie has a rich background in Sports Medicine and can evaluate a wide variety of musculoskeletal conditions.  She assists Dr. Browdy in all phases of his practice including seeing patients in the office, assisting in the operating room and making hospital rounds.

While seeing patients in the office, Dr. Browdy and Katie work in tandem, and Dr. Browdy oversees the care of every patient. If Dr. Browdy is out of the Saint Louis office, patients may elect to undergo an initial evaluation with Katie. After the initial appointment, a treatment plan or diagnostic testing may be ordered. Dr. Browdy is always immediately available by phone and has the capability of reviewing xrays and MRI's from any remote location.

By collaborating care with his PA, Dr. Browdy is able to expedite delivering the best possible care in a time efficient manner.

 

Philip George, M.D.

Background

Dr. George is a Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon who has practiced in the Saint Louis community for over thirty years.  He attended Washington University Medical School where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.  After he graduated from medical school, he did his internship and residency at Washington University with a break to serve as a Captain in the United States Air Force Medical Corps in Vietnam.  Following a fellowship in Hand Surgery, Dr. George began his practice of general orthopedics.

Jason Browdy, M.D.

Background

Dr. Browdy began practicing Orthopedic Surgery in Saint Louis in 2004 after completing subspecialty training at the world renowned Kerlan Jobe Clinic in Los Angeles. While training at the clinic founded by Dr. Frank Jobe, Dr. Browdy assisted in the care of several professional and division I collegiate teams, including the: Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Dodgers, Los Angeles Sparks, Los Angeles Galaxy, Los Angeles Avengers, Anaheim Angels, Anaheim Ducks, USC Athletics and Loyola Marymount University.  He has also served as a local consultant for the Los Angeles Dodgers.
